MEDICAL RECORDS TRANSLATION

TRICARE Prime Overseas, TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas, and TRICARE Plus beneficiaries* can receive medical record translation services under the TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) contract.

*Note: TRICARE Plus beneficiaries are ONLY eligible to have their medical records translated through their enrolled MTF. Visit https://tricare.mil/Military-Hospitals-and-Clinics for contact information.

What Is Considered a Valid Translation Request?

Valid translation requests include:

  • Physician treatment notes
  • Consultation results
  • Claims and supporting documentation
  • Patient consent forms
  • Hospitalization and operative summaries
  • Physician letters summarizing care
  • Emergency treatment results
  • Laboratory results and radiology reports
  • Contracting Officer Representative (COR) approved documents more than 365 days from the date of discharge/appointment. International SOS will coordinate this approval request on your behalf (see Medical Records Translations FAQ for more information).

Routine translations will be processed within 10 business days after acceptance. Urgent translations will be processed within two business days after acceptance. Timelines and certification only apply to the following languages: German, Dutch, Flemish, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Greek, Polish, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Czech, Romanian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Tagalog.

Process for Submitting Medical Records Translation Requests via the MyCare OverseasTM Beneficiary App and Portal
STEP 1 On the “Menu” page (by clicking the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner if using the app, or on the left side of the page if using the web-based portal), click on “My Medical Translations.”
STEP 2 Next, click on the “Create Medical Translation Request” button, fill in the details and upload your file(s). Then press “Submit.”
STEP 3 Once the translation is ready, you will receive a MyCare Overseas notification.
STEP 4 You can navigate to “My Medical Translations” and click on “Download Translation.” A message at the bottom of the screen will inform you when the download has been completed.
  Note: If you are using the mobile app, you should navigate to the “Files” folder on your phone, where you will see a “MyCare Overseas” folder.   This is where the files you downloaded are stored.

Note: Only TRICARE Prime Overseas and TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas beneficiaries are eligible to submit Medical Translation Requests on the MyCare Overseas™ Beneficiary App or on the web-based portal.
