Philippine Demonstration Project

*** PHILIPPINE DEMONSTRATION PHASE III START DATE: JULY 1, 2014 ***

On July 1, 2014, Phase III of the Philippine Demonstration project will begin for TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) Standard beneficiaries who live in the Philippines and receive care in the following designated demonstration area: Iloilo City, Iloilo.

On January 1, 2013, TRICARE® Management Activity began a demonstration project for TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) Standard beneficiaries who live in the Philippines and receive care in designated demonstration areas.

A phased approach will be used to implement the Philippine Demonstration in multiple locations. The current schedule is as follows:
 
Phase I January 1, 2013 Metro Manila; Angeles City, Pampanga; and Olongapo City, Zambales *
Phase II December 1, 2013 General Trias, Cavite; Naic, Cavite; Bacoor, Cavite; Imus, Cavite; and Cavite City, Cavite
Phase III July 1, 2014 Iloilo City, Iloilo


As of November 13, 2012, Orion, Bataan, has been removed from the Philippine Demonstration.

Within these designated areas, beneficiaries will be required to see Approved Demonstration Providers who have agreed to comply with certain TRICARE requirements and business processes in order to receive payment from TRICARE for health care claims.
Beneficiaries who are eligible to participate in the Philippine Demonstration Project must give the Approved Demonstration Provider their physical home mailing address.

International SOS Assistance, Inc. (International SOS), the TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) contractor, and its subcontractor, Global 24 Network Services, will administer the Philippine Demonstration.

Note: The Philippine Demonstration Project does not pertain to pharmacy, dental or Philippine Red Cross blood processing services. For these services, beneficiaries should continue to select Philippine Certified Providers from the Philippine Approved/Certified Provider search tool.
